Open Work Permit
Temporary Public Policy to grant open work permit to eligible workers in essential occupations and international student graduates who applied for permanent residency under the temporary public policies launched in April 2021.
Start and End Dates:
IRCC will accept application from July 4, 2021 to December 31, 2022.
Eligible requirements:
- Be in Canada with valid temporary resident status or be eligible to restore it under the IRCC rules; and
- For those who hold a valid work permit, that work permit expires in less than four months from the time the application for a work permit under the new public policy is made.
Family members 18 years of age or older who have been included as an accompanying family member in the application for permanent residence are also eligible to apply for the new work permit.
Fees:
Any work permit applicable fee must be paid at the time of application.
