Visitors traveling for a non-essential purpose will be allowed to enter Canada again after almost one year a half of restrictions.
The Canadian government has just announced that fully vaccinated tourists will be able to enter the country, starting August 9 for U.S citizens and permanent residents and September 7 for travelers from other countries.
Canada will allow only travelers who have taken both doses of Astra Zeneca, Pfizer, and/or Moderna or one dose of Janssen, the approved vaccines in Canada, at least 14 days prior to enter the country. They need to present proof of vaccination in English or French or translated by a certified translator.
On August 9, unvaccinated children of fully vaccinated Canadians and U.S. travellers will be also released from completing the 14-day quarantine. They might still be required to take on-arrival and day-8 testing. The same measures will be applied, starting September, for unvaccinated children of travelers from other countries.
Also starting August 9, Airports in Halifax, Quebec City, Ottawa, Winnipeg, and Edmonton will resume international flights.
All travelers still need a 14-day quarantine plan and are required to submit their information and documents thought ArriveCAN app before boarding.
