Canada is a relatively young country that was officially established in 1867. Canada consists of ten provinces and three territories spanning from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic. Its land mass makes it the second largest country in the world.

The name Canada comes from the Iroquoian word, kanata, meaning “village” or “settlement.

Canada has two official languages, English and French. Newcomers are required to prove some competency in either or both official languages before arriving. You must also show a clear criminal record and a clean bill of health.
