Portugal added as a Partner Country for International Experience Canada

Canadian youth aged 18 to 35 will soon have the opportunity to travel to Portugal under the International Experience Canada (IEC) program.

In early May, Minister Hussen and José Luís, Secretary of State of Portuguese Communities Abroad, signed a bilateral Youth Mobility Arrangement between Canada and Portugal, which will allow Canadian and Portuguese youth to work and travel in each other’s countries under the Working Holiday, International Co-op and Young Professional streams of the IEC program. Canadian and Portuguese youth can take advantage of the opportunity with the launch of the 2019 IEC season, which begins in late 2018.

The agreement will give Canadian and Portuguese youth the opportunity to broaden their perspective of the world and gain a better understanding of each other’s cultures, languages and societies while travelling and working abroad.

Portugal joins the other 33 partner countries and territories already available for Canadians to travel to under the IEC program.
